Hi everyone,
Is there any kind of sterilizing solution that can be used on the equipments to eradicate the possibility of transmission of orchid virus?

Hello Jeffrey, welcome to the forum. Don't know about any specific kind made for orchid trimming/cutting tools, I just use Listerine or carry a lighter in my pocket when doing orchid work.

i dilute 5ml of isopropyl alcohol in 95-100ml of water and put it in a spray bottle. but since the alcohol will 'dry' the tool surface, you might have to oil the cutting face once a week to protect it from rust.

Thanks pdox and harris for your answers. Listerine seems like wasteful and the lighter is a good trick though.
Is isopropyl alcohol available in Malaysia? Also wouldn't the oil on the cutting face affect the orchid?

i bought the alcohol from watson, the same one that is used for cleaning wound. and for the tool, before using it i wipe it clean using kitchen towel, so far no negative effect on my plant.
