hazri, limestone mcm kat perak tu bah huhuhu seriously, batu kapur ni blh amik dari tepi jalan jek area org bina jalan raya. kita blh tau itu limestone kalau dia mcm kapur (ada serbuk skit) dan bila tambah cuka, dia akan berbuih/bertindak balas. tatau lah ada jual yg special punya ke tak, kalau tak jumpa guna ketulan simen keras pun okay, tembok simen yg pecah ke... fungsi dia cuma utk membekalkan media yg alkali je. some paphs perlukan media mcm tu. alternativenya mcm kulit siput/kerang etc.
dsim, depends on what type lor. how is it doing today? i have one which requires limestone but it is thriving in just bricks and charcoal. it is in fact flowering again this year and has produced two new growths which are very big now.
ada org campur perlite ada pula yg guna 100% perlite... saya... saya experiment dgn mcm mcm, chopped fern + batu kapur, sphag dgn batu kapur dan 100% sphag. so far semua okay je just watch out for crown rot problems, jgn kasi basah sgt seluruh pokok.

If you use seashells, crush them so that they do not collect rain water. Yesterday, found one of my Paph primulinum fallen to the ground, almost all the media spilled out (batu kapur + sphag). I replaced with new media (batu kapur + chopped fern), hopefully the new spike will not abort.
